Sign a PDF without printing, scanning or installing an app. Draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or type your name, then choose the page and position where it should appear. It’s the fastest way to return a lease, a permission slip, an offer letter or an invoice.
The document is signed inside your browser on your own device. It isn’t uploaded to an e-signature service, so nobody else gets a copy of the contract or of your signature.
It’s free, needs no account and doesn’t add a watermark or a “signed with” footer. Your signature is created on the page and isn’t sent anywhere, so no service keeps a copy of it.

How to sign a PDF on iPhone, Android or a laptop
On a phone or tablet, drawing with your finger usually gives the most natural-looking signature. On a laptop, a trackpad works better than a mouse for most people; if neither looks right, typing your name is a clean alternative.
Some devices have their own options too. Mac Preview and the iPhone Markup tool can add a saved signature to a PDF. This tool does the same job on any device, including Windows and Android, without extra software.
Electronic signature vs. certified digital signature
This tool adds a visual electronic signature: an image of your signature placed on the page. In the US, UK, Canada and Australia, that kind of e-signature is widely accepted for everyday agreements like rental forms, consent slips and many business documents.
It is not a certified digital signature. It doesn’t attach a cryptographic certificate that proves who signed or detects later changes. Some legal, government and financial documents specifically require that. If you’re unsure, ask the person who sent the document what they accept.
Getting the signature to look right
A few small habits make the result look closer to ink on paper:
- Draw larger than you need. A bigger signature scaled down looks smoother than a small one.
- Open the downloaded file and check that the signature sits on the right line before you send it.
- Signing several pages? Sign one page, download, then load the signed file and sign the next.
